Conferences offer the opportunity not only for professional development but an opportunity to promote education related innovation and teaching methodology. Association of American Colleges and Universities

AAC&U sponsors a variety of programs—meetings, workshops, and summer institutes for campus teams—that bring together college educators from across institutional types, disciplines, and departments. AAC&U activities nurture the talents and creativity of higher education's current and future leaders. Attendees of recent meetings have described them as powerful and transformative—providing participants with innovative ideas and practices, and shaping the direction of their educational reform efforts.

Association for Educational Communications & Technology (AECT)

AECT is a professional association directed toward improving instruction through technology for those actively involved in the designing of instruction and a systematic approach to learning. AECT members carry out a wide range of responsibilities in the study, planning, application, and production of communications media for instruction.

American Educational Research Association (AERA)

AERA is a national research society that strives to advance knowledge about education, to encourage scholarly inquiry related to education, and to promote the use of research to improve education and serve the public good. AERA is concerned with improving the educational process by encouraging scholarly inquiry related to education and evaluation and by promoting the dissemination and practical application of research results. Based on their research, members produce and disseminate knowledge, refine methods and measures, and stimulate translation and practical application of research results.

Conference on Higher Education Pedagogy

The annual Conference on Higher Education Pedagogy is focused on higher education teaching excellence and the scholarship of teaching and learning. The conference showcases the best pedagogical practice and research in higher education today. Sessions address disciplinary and interdisciplinary instructional strategies, outcomes, and research. The conference is an opportunity to demonstrate effective instructional practice and disseminate the latest research aimed at improving the quality of higher education.

EDUCAUSE is a higher education technology association and the largest community of IT leaders and professionals committed to advancing higher education.

Northeastern Educational Research Association (NERA)

NERA is the regional branch of AERA. NERA welcomes individuals conducting research in all aspects of education including learning, curriculum and instruction, educational policy and administration, measurement, statistics, research methodology, counseling, human development, social context of education, cultural diversity, educational assessment, school evaluation and program development, and technology in education.

New England Faculty Development Consortium (NEFDC)

NEFDC is a consortium of institutional members from both private and public colleges and universities throughout New England. Each year they sponsor two conferences featuring workshops, networking opportunities, and a keynote presentation relevant to faculty and staff interested in teaching and learning.

Professional and Organizational Development Network in Higher Education (POD Network)

The POD Network is devoted to improving teaching and learning in higher education. The purposes of POD are to: 1) provide support and services for its members through publications, conferences, consulting, and networking; 2) offer services and resources to others interested in educational development; and 3) fulfill an advocacy role, seeking to inform and persuade educational leaders of the value of educational development in the institutions of higher education.

Teaching Professor

The Teaching Professor Conference provides a thought-provoking forum for educators of all disciplines and experience levels to share best practices that advance college teaching and learning. The three-day conference features preconference workshops that provide hands-on learning, provocative plenary presentations, carefully selected concurrent sessions on a range of relevant topics, and poster presentations highlighting the latest research

Teaching with Technology

The Teaching with Technology Conference, formerly known as the Teaching Professor Technology Conference, aims to help faculty take a more strategic approach to teaching with technology by exploring the relationship between technology and pedagogy—starting with what you want your students to know and be able to do and how technology can support and enhance their learning.
