Whether you are new to educational technology, including HuskyCT, or you want to learn an advanced skill, Educational Technology Day has something to offer you. CETL's Educational Technology staff will be hosting a variety of informational and hands-on sessions to prepare you for the upcoming semester.

Creating videos for your class

HuskyCT Basics

This session covers the basics of HuskyCT such as how to begin using HuskYCT, how the LMS can be used in academic and non-academic environments, basic functions and tools, and tips and tricks for beginner users.

Organizing materials in HuskyCT

This session will cover options for presenting and arranging materials in your HuskyCT course in ways that minimize confusion for students.

Creating videos for your class

Using UConn's video platform, Kaltura, you can record lectures, store videos, create quizzes and share them in your HuskyCT course. This training will cover how faculty, staff, or students can create, upload, store, edit, and share videos.

Online testing options

This session will cover basic usage of online testing features in HuskyCT, as well as the basics of LockDown Browser and its webcam-based add-on, Monitor, for instructors interested in learning about ways to address digital cheating in online testing environments.

DIY closed captioning & making digital content accessible

This session will explore the use of Kaltura and YouTube to create closed captions for your videos, along with discuss how to make other documents accessible.

Basics of eportfolios

This session will discuss how you can incorporate an eportfolio into your courses in a way that will allow students to deepen learning and show connections between academic, co-curricular, and extra-curricular experiences.
