Services

The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning provides a range of student and faculty services ranging from tutoring in the Writing and Q Centers to the testing center. Our colleagues around the university provide additional student and faculty services to meet the University’s needs.

Consultations

Consultation services are available to all UConn instructors at all campuses at no charge. Whether you are a longtime faculty member, a new post-doctoral researcher, a TA, a staff member mentoring a student club, or any other UConn employee interested in developing your teaching skills, CETL consultations can provide feedback and ideas for your particular situation.

New Academic Support

CETL provides consultation and guidance for departments and programs around UConn that are considering adding a new academic program. CETL can assist in the evaluation of the feasibility of new programs.

Testing Center

CETL offers a 64-seat testing center for small classes that wish to administer an online test. CETL’s staff proctors the examination for the instructor.

Writing Center

CETL’s Writing Center, located in the Homer Babbidge Library, offers tutoring for students who wish to improve on their writing process. The Writing Center also provides orientation programs for instructors of W courses.

Q Center

Located in the Homer Babbidge Library, the Q Center provides support for general education STEM courses in the math, chemistry, physics, and statistics disciplines.

Video Equipment Loan

The Educational Technology department has video equipment available to loan to faculty or staff for your teaching-related projects.

Academic Achievement Center

ISSS’ Academic Achievement Center works with students to assist them in achieving their academic goals, provides programs and resources to enhance student skill development, and aid students in the personal transition to university life.

Center for Students with Disabilities

The Center for Students with Disabilities works to enhance the experience of students with disabilities and to ensure a comprehensively accessible university experience in which students with disabilities have the same access to programs, opportunities, and activities.

ITS Tech Support

ITS’ Tech Support provides software and hardware support and guidance for faculty, staff, and students at the University.

ITS Self-Service Test Scanning

ITS provide self-service exam scanning for faculty utilizing Scantron sheets for their examinations.

ITS WordPress Support

ITS has created a variety of support and training options for those utilizing Aurora for their websites. 

UCAELI English Language Support

Global Affairs’ UCAELI office provides English language instruction to support students in their goals of higher education learning or instruction.

UConn Photo Library

UConn provides a database of beautiful photographs of UConn’s campuses, people, and buildings. All photography meets UConn’s branding requirements.
